On the right, a 1961 Martin D-18 (with custom pickguards).
In 1958, the J-45 you would’ve run you $149.00. The ‘61 D-18 would’ve been $210.00 (a D-28 a whopping $335!!).
I’ve always fancied myself a Gibson guy, perhaps because I grew up about 20 miles from 225 Parsons Street. I had friends who’s grandparents worked there before they closed. But there’s something about an old D-18…
