Model: Silvertone 3/4, circa 1960
This is my little Silvertone 3/4, ca. 1960, for which I, unfortunately, cannot recall the model number. This piece came with a cheap little hardwood bridge, string through, and a fret wire saddle, and it had terrible intonation when I first got it.
I recently received a request from a customer to replace a similar bridge on his Silvertone with a rosewood pin bridge and with a bone saddle. So I did a little Research & Development and came up with this design. My new design has the same footprint as the original bridge and keeps a similar shape. The dots cover two screws because they add a little hold and maintain the proper Harmony aesthetic
Now the intonation and action are spot on, and I’ve already re-fretted (and radiused the board to 12”), so this overhaul is complete.
